How does it work?

What skin conditions can be treated?

How many treatments will I need?
The number of treatments can vary with age, skin type and condition. With LED Phototherapy the results are cumulative. Treatments taken in quick succession will achieve optimum results and maintenance treatments may also be recommended.
How long will results last?
Results can last for several months following a course of LED Phototherapy treatments. However, as with any skin treatment, maintenance sessions are advised to ensure lasting results.
How soon can I expect results?

Are there any side effects?

Micro Needling is a safe, chemical-free, minimally invasive treatment that rejuvenates the skin (also known as Collagen Induction Therapy, Dermaroller or Dermapen). A device with fine needles creates tiny punctures in the top layer of the skin, which triggers the body to create new collagen and elastin. Micro Needling can be performed on all skin colours and types and is the holy grail of skin rejuvenation!
How many treatments will I need?
As you would imagine, the speed at which you will get visible results depends on what you are treating. While some results may be almost immediate, your best results usually won’t be visible until four to six weeks after the procedure. A course of at least three is recommended for best results.
Does it hurt?
Micro Needling gives a tingling and prickly sensation. Although it’s not a relaxing facial, it is not painful either. The treated area will be red for around two hours after treatment and it may create a sensation similar to mild sunburn, but this is what we want in order to get results!
What happens during a Micro Needling treatment?
A topical numbing cream is applied to the areas being treated. Fine needles puncture the skin to create channels or to micro-wound the skin, which stimulates cell regeneration. Growth factors and collagen boosters are delivered into the skin for enhanced rejuvenation.
What to expect after a Micro Needling treatment
You will have redness, which can be covered up with makeup the day after treatment. Slight redness can remain up to three days and longer in rare cases. During treatment and just after, you may experience pinpoint bleeding; this is a normal response with this procedure. The skin can feel dry or flake as a normal result of this procedure. This should resolve within a few days, in rare cases longer. You may experience a rough texture to the skin for a few days; this is a normal response after the Micro Needling treatment. You may moisturise more frequently if needed. Healing times may vary patient to patient. Rejuvenation of the skin may be seen as soon as a week and as long as six months after the procedure.
Who should NOT have this treatment?

Pre - Micro Needling advice
Discontinue all use of Retin-A, retinoids, or similar vitamin A compounds, harsh scrubs or exfoliating products and bleaching creams for at least three weeks including all topical prescription acne medication. You CANNOT have this treatment if you are taking Roaccutane. Avoid tanning or prolonged sun exposure two weeks before treatment. Sun may cause adverse reactions, as well as make your pigmentation worse. Micro Needling will not be performed if any redness due to sun exposure is present on the skin.
Discontinue all use of antibiotics two weeks prior to your micro needling treatment. Avoid Dermal Fillers and Botox at least three weeks prior to treatment. For best results Micro Needling is recommended before Botox and Dermal Fillers so that your skin is functioning better. Avoid microdermabrasion or other chemical peeling services two weeks prior to your Micro Needling treatment. Avoid waxing one week prior to Micro Needling.
Aftercare Advice

Use a gentle cleanser (no washcloths or scrubs)

Do not use sunbeds, sunbathe, sauna or steam for 14 days

Avoid electrolysis, waxing, bleaching (face) for 36 hours

Avoid makeup for 24 hours, mineral is recommended

Take directed advice if undergoing laser or IPL treatment

Avoid Dermal Fillers and Botox for four weeks after treatment

Do not use any products containing Vitamin A, Retin-A or similar Retinoids
DERMA.
PLANING
Dermaplaning removes the dead skin cells that make complexions look dull and contribute to clogged pores and spots, clearing the way so that skin products and serums can get deeper into the skin rather than sitting on the skin's surface. It removes vellus hair (also known as ‘peach fuzz’) and gives the skin a soft, smooth surface for makeup to glide on to flawlessly.
As we age, our skin cell turnover decreases which in turn affects our skins texture and tone. Dermaplaning gently removes the top layer of dead skin cells which helps to reveal a brighter and smoother complexion.
How does it work?
Dermaplaning uses a sterile surgical blade at a 45-degree angle to manually exfoliate and remove dirt and oils from the skin. Vellus hair is removed during the process leaving skin beautifully smooth and creating the perfect base for make-up application. The treatment is completely pain-free and no downtime is required.
Are there any side effects?
Dermaplaning is a very safe procedure. The skin is stretched during the procedure and the blade is always held at a 45-degree angle to reduce the risk of nicking the skin with the blade. Skin may be a little pink immediately after treatment due to being stretched, but this normally subsides within an hour or so. Peach fuzz / vellus hairs do not come back thicker and stronger; hair grows back at exactly the same rate, thickness and texture as before.
What results can I expect to see?
Dermaplaning is the ultimate ‘glow’ treatment! Skin is instantly smooth, glowing and refreshed. Dermaplaning is three times as effective as microdermabrasion alone, and creates the perfect base for makeup application.
